Lea crawled onto a Broadway stage at the tender age of 9, where she played Young Cosette in the original New York run of Les Miserable. She then originated the role of “the Little Girl” in the original Broadway production of Ragtime.


Lea was nominated for a Drama Desk award for her lead role Wendela in the ground breaking hit Spring Awakening, which she had been working on since she was 14. (She was 20 when the show opened on Broadway.)
